About Us
Sean McCarthy, EqDT, is a certified Equine Dental Technician through the Equine Dental Providers of America, a Veterinary Board-Approved testing process. He graduated from the American School of Equine Dentistry, the oldest equine dentistry school in the United States, where he has also served as an instructor for many years, helping to train the next generation of equine dental professionals.
Sean completed his apprenticeship under respected veterinarians and equine dental practitioners and has been providing dental care full time to horses for nearly 15 years. He often receives referrals by veterinarians for complex or advanced cases and enjoys collaborating with other equine professionals. Sean is known for his calm, thoughtful approach to each horse he works with.
Alongside his clinical work, Sean regularly offers educational clinics throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Florida, mentors students, and has written several articles on equine dental health. He has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of horses, including those owned by veterinarians, upper-level riders, and Olympic competitors.
Sean is committed to providing attentive, skilled care to support each horse’s comfort, health, and performance.
Since Sean spends a great deal of time on the road, his wife Rachael McCarthy schedules all of his appointments and often accompanies him on longer trips. Together, they reside on a farm located north of Ocala, Florida.
